Collage Maker Online
Build a simple storyboard or highlight reel from multiple photos.
A grid, not a free collage
Collage Maker places two to nine images in a column grid and downloads one JPEG named imageswift-collage.jpg. You choose 2, 3, or 4 columns. Rows are whatever the count requires. Nine images and three columns is three rows. Five images and two columns is two full rows and one leftover cell. The leftover sits in the grid. You cannot drag a photo into an overlapping scrapbook layout, rotate a single cell, or give one picture a caption. For captions, use Meme Maker on a finished export, knowing that will be a second JPEG pass.
Spacing is a gap from 0 to 48 pixels, default 12. Zero is a hard butt joint. 48 is a wide gutter. The background behind the gap and any empty area is one of three colors: white #ffffff, black #000000, or light grey #f1f5f9. There is no eyedropper and no image background.
The exported board is 1200 pixels wide and the cells are square. Each photo is cover-fitted: it scales until it fills the cell, then the overflow is clipped. A portrait and a landscape in the same row will not show letterbox bars. Parts of the photo are cut, and you cannot pan inside the cell. If a face matters, crop it first, then add the tighter file.
| Control | Range |
|---|---|
| Images | 2 to 9. Fewer than two is not a collage on this page. |
| Columns | 2, 3, or 4. |
| Gap | 0–48 pixels, default 12. |
| Background | White, black, or light grey only. |
| File | imageswift-collage.jpg, built locally. |
Order is the layout
Cells fill in the order you added the files, across each row. There is no layer stack. If the third photo should be the hero, add it in the position that lands in that cell, or remove chips and add them again in the order you want. A four-column layout with only two photos is a short row and a lot of background. That can be what you want for a pair of images on grey, and it can look unfinished if you expected the two photos to enlarge and fill the width. Column count changes the cell size. Check the preview after you change it, not only after you drop the files.
The JPEG will flatten transparency and will compress. A collage of screenshots of UI text gets slightly softer. If you needed a lossless board, this page does not write PNG. Keep the source images. The download name is the same every time, so rename imageswift-collage.jpg before the next export.
Boards the grid can actually make
- A 2 by 2 of four trip photos. Four images, two columns, gap 12, white. Crop faces first if the cell crop would take the top of a head.
- A three-across product strip. Three images, three columns, gap 0, white, so the products touch. Watch the edges. Zero gap shows every mismatch in height crop.
- A contact-sheet feeling for nine process shots. Nine images, three columns, grey background, gap 8 to 16. Do not expect labels under the cells.
- A two-image before and after. Two images, two columns, black background. Add a caption afterwards in another tool if you need the words “before” and “after.” This page has no text fields.
Steps
- Select between two and nine images.
- Set columns, background, and spacing. Look at the live preview, not only the controls.
- If a face or a product is clipped, replace that file with a tighter crop and rebuild.
- Download
imageswift-collage.jpgand rename it before you make another.
Frequently asked questions
Are the photos uploaded?
No. The grid is drawn in the browser and saved as a local JPEG.
How many photos can I use?
Two to nine. Column choices are 2, 3, and 4.
Can I set any background color?
No. The menu is white, black, and light grey (#f1f5f9).
Why is part of a photo missing?
Each image is fitted into its cell and the overflow is cut. Crop the source if you need a specific region to survive.
What is the gap slider?
The space between cells, from 0 to 48 pixels, starting at 12. The background color shows in that gap.
Why is the file always named imageswift-collage.jpg?
That is the download name for every collage. Rename it on disk if you are exporting more than one.
