This one sends the picture

AI Photo Studio is the editing tool that leaves the browser. You describe a change, and the page posts that request to /api/ai-edit. A second call, /api/ai-prompt, can tighten the wording of your instruction. Masking, undo, and redo stay on the device. The generation does not. If you cannot send the photo to ImageSwift’s worker, do not press the generate control. Compress, crop, rotate, and the filter presets are the local alternatives.

The mask is a brush from 8 to 180 pixels, starting at 42. You paint over the region the edit should change. Clear mask wipes that paint. Undo and redo walk the local history of the session. They do not version the file on a server. The hint on the canvas is literal: paint what you want changed. Unpainted area is the part you are asking the model to leave. Models still slip. A mask is a hint, not a contract. Check hands, type, and logos after every result.

Download saves imageswift-ai-edit.png from the current result. The name does not include your prompt. Rename it before the next run. The PNG is a new bitmap. It is not a layered Photoshop file, and the mask is not stored inside it.

Write the change, not a mood

The worker is set up for a concrete instruction: change a shirt color, remove a person in the background, replace an object. “Make it better” and “cinematic” are weak because the model has to invent the edit. Name the object and the result. If only one region should move, paint it first. A full-frame prompt with an empty mask is a request to reinterpret the whole photo, including the face.

Hosted models behind the edit route are image editors in the FLUX family, with a smaller fallback when the preferred model is busy. You do not pick the checkpoint in the page. You also do not get a seed control. Two clicks with the same words can differ. Keep the original. The download is a candidate, not a replacement, until you have looked at it at 100% zoom.

Do not send identity documents, private medical photos, or anyone’s picture you are not allowed to upload. Local tools on this site never see those files if you simply do not open Studio. Removing the background with the background tool is a different path: that one downloads a model and runs on device. Studio is the network path.

Edits the form can express

• A shirt recolor. Paint the shirt, not the face, and write the color. Look at the collar and the shadow under the arm. Those are where the mask usually falls short.
• A distracting object behind a subject. Paint the object and say to remove it. Look at the fill. Repeating patterns and text in the background are where the fill goes wrong.
• A product on a new surface. Paint the table, name the surface, and compare the contact shadow with the original. A floating product is a failed edit even if the color matches.
• A face you wanted untouched. Do not paint the face, and still compare it. If the face moved, discard the PNG. Do not “fix” it with a second pass on the already altered file if you still have the original.

Steps

1. Drop the photo. The canvas and the mask layer line up on the same image.
2. Set the brush. 42 is the start. Use a smaller size near edges and a larger one to fill a wall.
3. Paint only the region that should change. Clear mask and start over if the paint spilled.
4. Write a specific instruction. Use the prompt helper if you want the sentence tightened. Read it before you generate.
5. Generate, then inspect the result against the original. Undo if the local history still has the prior image.
6. Download imageswift-ai-edit.png only after that check, and rename it.
